Our Mission Statement

Our aim is to provide a welcoming and friendly centre for the local community.

 

Who are we?

The Pin Green Community Association was set up in the 1960's to run the Fairlands Community Centre in Archer Road that was more commenly known as Pin Green Community Centre.

PGCA is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Registered charity no. 1156808.  It is run by a group of trustees who are all local people. The charity runs all aspects of the community centre to allow local people from Pin Green and Stevenage to have a space to get together for parties, social gatherings and all sorts of activities for children and adults.

There are 3 halls for hire of different sizes and are all competatively priced for what ever activity you want to hire it for.

We offer a hot lunch time meal for older people or for those who just don't fancy cooking. Our service has been rated 5* by SBC

The Community centre is leased from Stevenage Borough Council but is run and managed by PGCA. There are a number of part time staff all paid by the association. We receive a small grant from Stevenage Borough Council but the majority of our income comes from renting out of the community space and our own fundraising.

Our Coffee Shop

The coffee shop opened in September 2016 as a community coffee shop designed and run to serve the centre, park users and the local community. We serve Barista coffees, a range of teas and hot chocolates as well as a large variety of cold drinks. We serve cakes, some home made in our kitchen, as well as light snacks such as baked potatoes, paninis and bacon rolls.

We aim to provide a professional and friendly coffee shop where you can come and meet friends, have a break from enjoying the lovely park or just chill out. There is free WiFi and we are open all year round. Fancy volunteering? we would love you to come and speak to us, full training will be given.
